I've wanted to buy and wear one too. I have just been afraid of the same thing.:-(
I have been thinking I am letting the fear of man keep me from declaring Christ in this way. I can't recall right now the exact scripture, but the one where Jesus says that he acknowledge before the Father all those that openly acknowledge him.
Hooray for your wifey to have the courage and strength of character! Tell her she is an inspiration!

I have to say this is a hilarious observation of the account! You made me lol! While I personally still have faith in the bible, I do find your matter-of-fact humor to be priceless! Thanks!

I wish I could see that.
Ahhhhh, I sigh as I pretend to be sitting with my family and you sipping my sweetened coffee and sharing some good conversation. That would be a true paradise.
I can only imagine the jumping and barking your dog is doing!!!! The deer used to drive our dog nuts! -

I only had time to listen to about 7 minutes, but yea for them! He easily refuted the elders statements and you can hear the elders lack of reasoning outside of the watchtower box.
What presumptuos men they are. It is sickening to think I used to swallow that line of reasoning and think witnesses were so superior. Visiting other churches has really opened my eyes to the lies they believe about themselves being so unique and special to God. -

Nathan Natas: PERFECTION! I wish I would have thought of that while my mother was shunning me! I could still do that for my sister, but I don't want to waste the money!!!!!!! Maybe just a sympathy card though! Thanks for the idea!

Finally!
by JWdaughter inwe finally got the house on the market and within 8-9 days we had a offer.
kind of lower than what we want, but in light of school starting in 1mo.
and a very long commute not to mention the housing market.

Congratulations! I know how stressful that is, and taking an offer that's lower than you want at least stops the "bleeding" of the money!!! We had rent in our new place and an empty house 800 miles away we were still paying a mortgage on. We felt lucky to sell and took the offer. I hope you get what you want! I am waiting right now to see if we can qualify for a mortgage on a house I looked at Monday! Here's me crossing my fingers for both of us!!!!!! ;-)

I was a tired young mom. We had a little 6 month old and 3 year old, hubby and I could only take one more person in service with us because we drove a 5 seater car. I didn't get out much to have adult conversation and it took everything I had to get us ready, diaper bag packed, keep the kids happy, fed, and diapered in the car. I got out at this door in a nice subdivision and went by myself. The man who answered was horrible. I had never had such venom sprayed at me in the form of words. I can't remember now everything he said. It was short. Just a couple of sentences, but it was a knife in the heart. I went back to the car and cried. I never cry in front of others. But the silent hot tears trickled down my face and I just couldn't bear to get out again. I thought, "Why am I killing myself to do this?" It wasn't because I believed it. It was to get those few hours for the month so I wouldn't be "irregular". It was to help my hubby keep up his hours and jumping through the hoops ministerial servants have to jump through. It was the beginning of the end. After that, my only field service was basically what I could count with studying with the kids.

Santa Clause, Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy...
by changeling ini recall witnesses saying how evil wordly parents were by "lying" to their children about these characters.
how witness children were fortunate that their parents always told them the truth.. so, i wonder, have you ever met an adult who was messed up because of having found out that santa clause and friends were not real?
are therapist's couches everywhere filled with these poor souls?

OMG! Lisavegas! I absolutely love that!!!!! What could be more darling?
For our daughter (1st child) thank god we were already distancing ourselves from the JW's when she was losing her teeth. Unfortunately I don't think we did the tooth fairy with her first one or two teeth, but by the third--- she put a little lipstick case (the kind with a mirror that snaps closed) under her pillow. I put a dollar or twos worth of quarters in it, and put two little glitter makeup marks on the outside of the case to look like the tooth fairy left handprints from opening the case. She was so excited and sure the tooth fairy had come! What a baby angel!
Last year was the first christmas. She was 7 and our son was 5, still young enough to believe. They put out reindeer food (oatmeal and glitter on the lawn to attract the reindeer that our son had made in his Pre-K class) and carrots by the fireplace. Our daughter even left Santa a note on the chair.
The Easter Bunny had to "find" our kids in a hotel this last Easter. We were traveling and they were ecstatic with their baskets and the little guy said he knew the bunny would find him. That was their second Easter.
I love holidays!!!! Thanks for the thread changling! I have to say, if it wasn't for my grandparents and my dad celebrating when I was young and giving me great memories, we would be a such a loss on how to celebrate. Hubby has never had any celebrations until now. I am so glad we can give these to our kids. I only wish my husband could have a memory to draw upon. (He got an Easter Basket too his first Easter! I made sure of that!) I am already singing christmas songs and thinking of presents! The Hallmark store has it ornaments out and we have been looking! I am so happy to have these traditions being established in our home!
